Bengaluru: Karnataka take a huge lead of 358 runs in Ranji Trophy cricket quarter-final against Uttarakhand. At the end of the second day, Karnataka were 474 for five.
They bowled out Uttarakhand for 116 runs. Shreyas Gopal who scored a century (103 off 153 balls including a six and 13 fours), B.R. Sarath (23) is at the crease.
Openers Ravikumar Samarth (82 off 108 balls), skipper Mayank Agarwal (83 including a six and 12 fours off 109 balls), Malayali player Devdutt Patikal (69) and Nikin Jose (62) helped Karnataka. Manish Pandey (39) is the only one who has faded in the front row. Uttarakhand was crushed by Venkatesh who took five wickets for 36 runs. Vidwat Kaverappa and Krishnappa Gautam took two wickets each and Vijay Kumar Vysakh took one wicket. Bengal leads the quarter against Jharkhand by 65 runs in the first innings. When play was stopped on the second day, Bengal were 238 for three. Abhishek Poral (25) and Shabazz Ahmed (17) are at the crease. Jharkhand’s first innings ended for 173 runs. Abhimanyu Easwaran (77 off 154 balls) and Sudhip Kumar Gharami (68) scored half-centuries for Bengal. Madhya Pradesh is facing a batting slump against Andhra Pradesh. Andhra scored 379 runs in the first innings. In reply, Madhya Pradesh started batting on the second day when play was stopped at 144 for four.
