Mangaluru ∙ The Congress government in Karnataka canceled the appointment order of Nutan Kumari, wife of slain BJP activist Praveen Kumar Netaru. The order of temporary appointment of Nutan to government service in Dakshina Kannada was cancelled.

Nutan Kumari was appointed as Group C post on contractual basis by former Chief Minister Basavaraj Bomme in Mangaluru office in Dakshina Kannada. He was appointed as an assistant to the Deputy Commissioner of Mangalore, who manages the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.

The new Congress government canceled the temporary appointments in the state. It is common practice to ask temporary staff to leave during a change of government. Congress sources say that no special consideration was given to Nutan Kumari.

On July 26, 2022, Nutan’s husband Praveen Nettaru was killed. The case is being investigated by the National Investigation Agency. BJP had built a house for Praveen’s family at a cost of Rs 60 lakh.
