Hybrid super sedan Karma Revero GT Is a modernized version of the unsuccessful Fisker Karma, which the American company Karma Automotive has been producing since 2017. The successes so far are more than modest: less than a thousand cars are sold annually. But there are still a lot of plans (Chinese funding still allows it), so the company has prepared a cunning multi-move that should spur demand.
The Karma Revero GT sedan has been renamed. From now on, it will be called the Karma GS-6, and the Revero name is reserved for future models – more luxurious and advanced. The car itself hasn’t changed. It continues to be equipped with a sequential hybrid, which consists of a 1.5-liter BMW turbo petrol (it works in generator mode) and two electric motors on the rear axle (542 hp total). The traction battery of 28 kW ∙ h provides a mileage of 129 km on pure electric traction, and taking into account recharging from an on-board gas generator, the cruising range is 579 km.
Karma GS-6 is offered in Standard, Luxury and Sport versions, which differ mainly in equipment and decor. Sport modification (former Karma Revero GTS) also has independent control units for electric motors, due to which the thrust vector control function is implemented. In a word, except for the new color and decor options, everything remains the same. Except for prices.
This is an attraction of unheard of generosity. If the Karma Revero GT still cost at least $ 135,000 in the United States, then for the renamed Karma GS-6 sedan, only 84,000 will be asked! Alas, the company did not explain why such a significant “discount” was obtained. And the future purely electric modification of the Karma GSe-6 (formerly known as Revero GTE) will be even more affordable: from $ 79,900. Such a sedan will be completely declassified a little later.
