ALBUQUERQUE – Former UFC fighter Greg Hardy has had an unsuccessful debut with the BKFC organization, which organizes boxing matches without gloves. Hardy left the UFC last year after his third loss in a row and is known to the wider public mainly because of the incident with his girlfriend at the time.
The latter happened in 2014, when Hardy was arrested for assault. He was accused of assaulting and threatening to kill his ex-girlfriend. She testified that the former MMA fighter threw her on a futon with weapons and began to strangle her with his hands. Throughout Hardy’s tenure in the UFC, there were voices of fans who were in favor of him not appearing in this organization due to his past.
Unsuccessful work in the UFC and an unsuccessful debut
Their pleas were heard in March 2022, in which the American fighter claimed his third consecutive knockout defeat. At 7-5 overall and 2-4 within the UFC, he was released by the organization, so Hardy tried his luck in another branch of combat sports.
However, his tenure in the organization Bare Knuckle Championship didn’t start off ideal at all, and right at his debut he tasted not only the bitterness of defeat, but also a hard knockout. Opponent Josh Watson sent him uncompromisingly to the ground with a left hook, from which the 34-year-old American did not recover.
