With “Karlsruhe wins!” the CIK would like to encourage the visitors of the Schlosslichtspiele to stay longer in the center of Karlsruhe.
Frank Theurer: “Mega Grand Prize”
“With this campaign, the participating companies should benefit from the synergy effects of this annual crowd puller, ultimately of course the entire city. With the many attractive prizes and the mega main prize, we want to inspire visitors to Karlsruhe city center this summer,” says Frank Theurer, City Manager and Managing Director of the City Initiative Karlsruhe, the organizer and source of ideas for this competition.

And this is how it works: During the promotion period, the customers of the participating companies can open their receipts – whether from retail, gastronomy, cultural and leisure facilities or service companies www.karlsruhe-gewinnt.de upload it or submit it to the CIK by post or e-mail and take part in several prize draws.
Central pharmacies in Karlsruhe sponsor the main prize
A main prize in the form of gold coins worth 25,000 euros will be raffled off, sponsored by the central pharmacies in Karlsruhe. “As the owner of the central pharmacies, honorary chairman of the City Initiative and Ur-Karlsruher, our beautiful city is close to my heart. Many people have lost sight of how attractive our city is. With the campaign ‘Karlsruhe wins’ I want to motivate manage to look around Karlsruhe and discover what great corners and shops there are. Every visitor contributes to the fact that our city flourishes and develops further. So come to the city and help,” says Henrik Rohde, owner of the central Pharmacies and Chairman of the City Initiative Karlsruhe.
There are also weekly draws
In addition, there are weekly draws with the chance to win a weekly main prize worth between 1,000 and 1,500 euros each, as well as a large number of other prizes each worth at least 50 euros. “A big thank you in this context to the around 50 participating companies for making so many attractive and high-quality prizes available for this competition, not least of course to the main sponsor of the central pharmacies,” says city manager Frank Theurer from the organizing city Initiative that puts a high five-digit amount into the promotion of the campaign. An investment from the joint marketing budget of CIK and Karlsruhe Marketing and Event GmbH.
“With the competition, the Schlosslichtspiele will be linked even more closely to the city center and the local companies. We are very confident that the chance of attractive prizes will further increase the coupling effects between the event, which extends far beyond Karlsruhe, and the local economy, and that the visitors will too encouraged to make a detour to the city center before the evening shows at the castle,” explains Dennis Fischer, Head of City Marketing at Karlsruhe Marketing and Event GmbH.
Promotion period from August 14th to September 24th
The campaign period for “Karlsruhe wins!” is August 14 through September 24, i.e. exactly six weeks. The receipts of the customers of the participating companies act as lots (list on www.karlsruhe-gewinnt.de). All receipts will go into the main prize draw at the end of the sweepstakes. The winners will be notified by CIK and can collect their prizes no later than six weeks after notification of the prize.
