“In Berlin with Melo-M we will present both my written music and other popular pieces of film music: we will play both with Kristaps the Great award-winning music from the motion picture hunting, AKKA/LAA Bezgalības award-winning music from the film of director Vitalijs Manskis In the sun’s rays and other works,” says Kārlis Auzāns.
Kārlis Auzāns has composed music for films made in all three Baltic countries, including Tagurpidi torn/The Sleeping Beast, The Year Before the War, Gorbachev. Paradise/Gorbachev. Heaven, Emily. The Queen of the Latvian Press, The Birth of The Leopard u.c.
As the head of the Latvian National Cinema Center, Dita Rietuma, emphasizes, in the experience of the film industries and institutions of the Baltic countries, this is the first such high-level cooperation event – a joint platform at one of the most important European film festivals, an opportunity to position the Baltics as a strong region of film art and professional film production, to popularize Latvian, Lithuanian and Estonia’s competitiveness on the European scale and even more widely.
