According to an insider MyTimeToShineHello, The Boys star Karl Urban is in talks to play Johnny Cage in the upcoming Mortal Kombat sequel. The filmmakers have long confirmed that the hero will make his debut in the sequel, but the actor was not named.
Mortal Kombat 2 is expected to begin filming in June in Australia and wrap up in September. Directed again by Simon McQuoid, who directed the first part. Mortal Kombat grossed over $84 million worldwide on a $55 million budget. The film later became the most popular premiere on the HBO Max streaming service.
A release date for the sequel has yet to be announced.
