It is currently not yet clear who will train Bayern Munich’s professionals in the coming season. Now CEO Rummenigge has once again praised the current trainer and compared it to top coaches.
Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge sees coach Hansi Flick as parallels to his prominent predecessors. “He has a clear match plan. The team is tactically aligned as with Louis van Gaal, Jupp Heynckes or Pep Guardiola,” Rummenigge told the “kicker” (Monday edition).
“Flick is an important factor”
And he added: “The coach Flick is an important factor, he has an empathetic connection to the team and does it very well in public.”
Rummenigge urges serenity when it comes to extending the contract. Flick, who succeeded Niko Kovac, still has a contract with Bayern until the end of the season.
The numbers, however, speak for Flick: At FC Bayern, as head coach, he gets an average of 2.53 points. A top value! He won 14 of his 17 competitive games. They are still leaders in the Bundesliga and in the DFB Cup.
On Tuesday, FC Bayern will face Chelsea in the first knockout round of the Champions League.
