10.01.2024 Account (bli). Karin Hellenkamp is the new administrative officer of the Catholic parish of St. Heinrich Reken.
“We are very happy that the position has been filled again. “She will be responsible for everything here except pastoral care,” Pastor Thomas Hatwig tells us.
Karin Hellenkamp previously worked in a Lüdinghausen bank for many years. “Now I’m glad that my commute to work is so short. It was always my wish to orient my workplace more towards my place of residence. I still had to comply with the notice period and was therefore only able to start here on January 2nd,” says the trained banking specialist, who was born in Reken and lives with her family in Reken station. She led the family circle in Maria Veen for many years. In particular, through her active involvement in the church council, Karin Hellenkamp was able to establish her first connections with the Central Rendantur for the Borken Deanery. Her area of responsibility as an administrative officer includes, for example, financial budget management and human resources. “First I have to get an overview and familiarize myself with the existing structures,” explains Karin Hellenkamp. However, they will take up a large part of the administration of the 18 church buildings in Reken. There are 10 churches, four in the respective districts, the old church of St. Simon and Judas, the four cemetery chapels and the forest chapel. “Something is always broken here and needs to be repaired,” explains Pastor Thomas Hatwig, adding that the roof over the St. Heinrich Church in Groß Reken urgently needs to be replaced.
