Karime Borja’s Campaign for Mateito’s Health: Hearts United by De Casa en Casa

“Hearts united by Mateito” was the name of the campaign carried out by the program De casa en casa, on TC Televisión in favor of the health of the first-born of Karime Borja, queen of Guayaquil 2018, who weeks ago returned to the hospital due to a complication.

During the broadcast of the program, the production that each year chooses a social case to help chose Borja’s to give him the donations received and allocate them to his medical treatments.

“Those who see my daily life with Mateo (on social networks) know that it is a fairly expensive treatment. We are trying to apply for treatment in Mexico, I want to take the fat man, not to live or anything, I need to go for a super good treatment there because I have seen some crazy developments in children who are in the same condition as Mateo. That is the objective and that is where we aim.

“Every year the channel chooses a case to work on at Christmas, or multiple cases on this occasion chose my fat man’s case, so I feel super flattered,” Borja added in a video she shared on her Instagram.

‘I already understood that this is my life,’ says Karime Borja, who is getting ready to take care of her son Mateo at home.

What happened to Mateito?

In November 2021, the minor suffered an accident at home that left him in a coma.

“He had an accident, he drowned, that’s why many moms who have had this happen to them campaign so that children from a very young age learn to swim and so that there are fences in the pools at home so that, if there is an oversight, the Children don’t run and get involved. That’s what happened. Mateo drowned and was immediately taken to the hospital. He was without vital signs for 15 minutes,” Borja indicated in an interview with this newspaper in May 2022. (I)
