Karim Benzema scored a wonderful goal and made another in his first match with Al-Ittihad, to lead the Saudi champion to a 2-1 victory over Tunisian Esperance in the Arab Football Clubs Championship today, Thursday, and the Iraqi police won 1-0 over Tunisian Sfaxien; For the latter to announce the departure of his Egyptian coach Hossam El Badry.
And the former Real Madrid top scorer hit an amazing ball from outside the penalty area in the 55th minute to seal the victory, after his colleague Abdul Razzaq Hamdallah gifted a pass to the equalizing goal in the 35th minute.

Esperance were the first to score in a quick first half, with a wonderful shot from Osama Bougherra in the 26th minute, after a penetration from the right by Nigerian Anayo Iwala.
Benzema manipulated the Esperance defense, then passed a perfect ball, which Hamdallah headed into the net brilliantly after 9 minutes.

The French striker completed the Al-Ittihad uprising with his amazing shot, after coach Nuno Espirito Santo’s team aborted the danger of Esperance in the second half, after controlling the midfield with N’Golo Kante descending.
Benzema left the stadium in the 70th minute, to a standing ovation from the fans in Taif.
Al-Ittihad leads the first group with 3 points, equal to the Iraqi police, who beat Tunisian Sfaxien 1-0 earlier today.

Sfaxien announces the resignation of Badri
After losing to the police, Sfaxien announced the resignation of Egyptian coach Hossam El Badry.
Sfaxien said that Al-Badri “thanked the board of directors and handed in his resignation from his position at the head of the technical framework of the first team.”
And he added – in a statement – “We extend our thanks to Al-Badri for his efforts since his arrival, and we wish him success in the coming of his career.”
