Karim Benzema Still Sharp at 35, Real Madrid Doesn’t Need a New Striker Says Carlo Ancelotti

Jakarta

Karim Benzema still very sharp even though he is not young anymore. Real Madrid do not need a new striker in the near future.

Although often plagued by injuries, Benzema is still prolific in producing goals for Madrid. The 35-year-old striker has scored 29 goals in 37 appearances in all competitions.

Throughout the month of April alone, Benzema scored 10 goals. Amazingly, he made three hat-tricks in one month!

Carlo Ancelotti said finding a replacement for Benzema was indeed in Madrid’s future plans. However, for now, Ancelotti is satisfied with the performance of Benzema and Los Blancos’ attack line.

“Recruiting player number 9 is in the future plans of the club considering Karim’s age,” Ancelotti said as reported by the Daily Mail.

“As long as Karim is in this condition, we don’t think about it, also because the attack is working very well. They did well last year and also this year.”

“Karim has had his ups and downs, Rodrygo and Vinicius Junior have developed, (Marco) Asensio has played well. The problem in these two years has not been the attack line,” Ancelotti added.
