The Zollverein Coal Plant in ESSEN, Germany is a UNESCO World Heritage Site as a remarkable industrial monument of Europe’s traditional heavy industry and one of the most important cultural assets in the world.
In this special place the sports team “team ESSEN 99” founded by Ernest Peter Berghaus in 1999 in the city of Essen, Germany and active in the organization of various sports activities such as cycling, swimming and running organized on 31/12/2023 the Silvester race lauf (New Year run) of 5 and 10 kilometers.
The inclement weather did not deter the runners, with entries in both races exceeding 800.
