Karang Intan, INFO_PAS – Karang Intan Class IIA Narcotics Correctional Institution (Lapas), in collaboration with the Banjar Regency Health Service (Dinkes), is making efforts to prevent incidents of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DBD) by carrying out fogging activities in all prison areas, Tuesday (23/1). This activity aims to control the population of the Aedes aegypti mosquito, a vector for dengue fever which can reproduce well, especially in the rainy season like now.

“Fogging is our preventative effort to reduce the risk of transmission of dengue fever and diseases that can be transmitted by mosquitoes. “Maintaining the health of inmates to avoid disease is a commitment that we continue to strive for to ensure the success and smoothness of the coaching program held by Karang Intan Narcotics Prison,” said Head of Prison, Wahyu Susetyo.

He further added that collaboration with the Banjar Health Office is a form of good synergy, which has been built up so far. The entire residential block, work space and official residence of the Karang Intan Narcotics Prison were not free from fogging carried out by Banjar Health Office officers.

“Not only fogging, the Prison Polyclinic health officers also distributed abate powder in all residential blocks and office spaces, the powder was directly dissolved in existing water reservoirs,” he concluded.

Through this activity, the Karang Intan Narcotics Prison and the Banjar Health Office hope to create a healthier and safer environment, as well as support infectious disease prevention programs in the community. (arb)
