Director and producer Karan Johar says that the new generation of stars will not have the aura or magic that Shahrukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, etc. had. In an interview to Brute India, Karan said that anyone can become famous, but stardom and fame are two.
“I don’t think the new generation of stars will have the aura or magic of Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgn. They are the last stars of that type.
Today’s stars are important and they are problematic. They are also celebrities. Fame and superstardom are two. Anyone can get into trouble. If you want, you can start a YouTube channel and become famous. Becoming an influencer on Instagram can be problematic. But are you a superstar? Are people waiting for an opportunity because of you? That is superstardom. That will not happen,’ said Karan.
Karan Johar’s latest movie is Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani. Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahaani also has the distinction of Karan Johar returning as a director after seven years.
The story of the film revolves around media worker Alia Bhatt’s character and her neighbor Ranveer Singh’s character. The film will hit the theaters on July 28. Apart from Ranveer and Alia, Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan and Shabana Azmi also appeared in the lead roles.
