This is stated in a statement by the chairman of the DPS, Mustafa Karadai, on the occasion of the upcoming referendum in Turkey.

“On April 16, Turkey will vote in a referendum on constitutional changes that will change it forever. And not only Turkey. But also the Balkans, Europe and the world.
Erdoğan seeks to get all the power in the country unchecked. Erdogan wants to be president, prime minister and party leader at the same time. No checks and balances.
The referendum threatens democracy, the observance of fundamental rights and freedoms, as well as the rule of law.
Therefore, all democratic forces and countries must take a firm position today. So that tomorrow is not late!
We, as representatives of DPS, with over 30 years of history, with the main cause of protecting human rights and freedoms, the rule of law and democracy, say categorically NO:
NO! of the gross trampling of human rights and freedoms;
NO! the lack of freedom of speech in the public space and the practice of arresting and “imprisoning” free-thinking intellectuals and journalists;
NO! of the facade and false democracy;
NO! of violence and dictatorship in all their forms;
NO! of directed and controlled “attempted coups” against established values and norms of Democracy;
NO! the humiliation of the army, the prosecution, the judicial system and the state administration;
NO! of the transformation of foreign policy from “zero problems with all neighbors” to threatening and aggressive actions towards all neighbors;
NO! of the transformation of the Kemalist Republic of Turkey into a Sultanate, because it becomes harmful not only to its neighbors, to the region and to the world, but above all to itself!
The Kemalist state system turned Turkey from the “sick man of Europe” into a global economic, military and political colossus. For Turkey to remain like this: NO! the referendum!
