Police officially removed the police chief Tegal Selatan Kompol Joeharno after the concert dangdut which was held by the Deputy Chairman of the DPRD Tegal Wasmad Edi Susilo. In addition, the National Police’s Propam Division will follow up on the case.
“The police chief has been handed over and his police chief has been investigated by Propam,” said the Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police, Inspector General Argo Yuwono in his statement, Saturday (26/9).
Argo said that his party is currently investigating the alleged violation of Article 93 of Law Number 6 of 2018 concerning Health Quarantine and Article 216 of the Criminal Code.
The reason is, Wasmad as the Deputy Chairperson of the DPRD was determined to hold a dangdut concert which caused a crowd in the midst of the corona virus (Covid-19) pandemic. This has the potential to spread new clusters of Covid-19 transmission.
The police, said Argo, have also confiscated several pieces of evidence. The police have also examined 10 witnesses of the incident.
“The police have examined 10 witnesses and the reported Wasmad Edi Susilo,” said Argo.
Previously, the dangdut concert video held by Wasmad Edi Susilo was busy circulating on social media. This attitude has been criticized by various parties, because it has the potential to spread the corona virus.
The situation of the spread of the corona virus in Indonesia on the other hand is still not sloping. Until Saturday (26/9), the number of positive cases reached 271,339 cases. Of these, 199,403 were declared cured, and 10,308 people died.
