PT Blue Bird Tbk already has at least 30 units of electric cars as their fleet. Now Blue Bird chooses to participate in making a hybrid car in the form of the Toyota Prius PHEV into their fleet. Are drivers tired of driving electric cars, Blue Bird?
The President Director of PT Blue Bird Tbk, Sigit Djokosoetono at GIIAS 2021, confirmed that this was not true because drivers who use electric cars are used to it and know where to charge electric cars.
“About electric cars (electric taxis), while infrastructure needs to be developed, but drivers are getting used to it, besides that the drivers already know where the charging locations are, the drivers don’t complain about it. Because our taxi drivers have been using electricity for a long time, for 2 years. years. So they already know (how to operate an electric car, when to charge it, etc.),” said Sigit.
“And the paths that are used quite often are passed, such as at the airport or Gambir and the pool, we also have the infrastructure, so the infrastructure is sufficient for us to operate using electric cars, but for us, for the development of the wider community, we still need to review and I am sure the addition of electricity quite a lot on the way,” Sgiti added.

Currently, in addition to having 30 units of electric cars as its fleet, PT Blue Bird Tbk has now chosen to make the Toyota Prius PHEV as an addition to their line up.
As is well known, the Toyota Prius PHEV is also no less great than the electric car fleet currently owned by Blue Bird. One of the advantages of the Prius PHEV is the ability of a larger battery and the model of charging the battery through an external source.
The flexibility of this car has also been tested because it has a long driving range. The Prius PHEV is powered by a 2ZR-FXE engine with a capacity of 1,800 cc with maximum power and torque of 98 PS and 142 NM respectively as well as a 1 NM/ISM electric motor with maximum power and torque of 53 Kw (98 PS) and 142 Nm respectively. BEV mode has a cruising range of 68.2 km. With this cruising range, the Prius PHEV has better flexibility so that its use becomes more optimal.
The Prius PHEV uses a Lithium-Ion Battery type that has a voltage of 3.7 v per cell. This battery has 95 cells so that in total it is capable of producing 315.5 voltage electricity. The battery capacity is recorded at 8.8 kW. For a full charge it takes 2 hours 20 minutes if using electricity with a voltage of 220 Volt 16A.
