Your social media accounts are temporarily suspended. So Trump fan Kanye West buys the platform of him.
New York. US rapper Kanye West (45) wants to buy the Twitter Parler alternative, popular with supporters of former President Donald Trump and right-wing Americans. There is a basic agreement with the musician, Parlement Technologies, which owns the short message service, said Monday.
The sale is expected to be completed by the end of the year. The company did not initially provide further details, such as the price.
Parler describes itself as an online platform focused on free speech. The still relatively small platform started out as a kind of Twitter copy on which anything was allowed. As posts were discovered that, among other things, invoked violence against specific people and glorified National Socialism, Parler was temporarily removed from Apple’s App Store.
West, who now goes by the name Ye, was blocked from both Instagram and Twitter, at least temporarily, after causing a stir with media reports in which he made anti-Semitic comments. The musician, who has four children with ex-wife Kim Kardashian, is one of the most successful rappers in the world. He also works as a fashion designer.
