It reports Variety. The magazine refers to a case from the entertainment website The Blastwho on Saturday night Norwegian time announced that Kanye West was scheduled to perform at the American Music Awards on April 3 – and that this has now been shelved.
Variety writes that a representative of West has sent them a link to the case in The Blast, with the comment “this has been confirmed”.
ET Online also writes that a West representative confirms the cancellation to them.
West’s alleged planned performance has not been confirmed by Grammy organizer Recording Academy.
At the time of writing, they have also not confirmed that a West appearance has been increased.
Trouble with Trevor
The Blast writes that the reason for the cancellation is to be West’s behavior on social media lately, where he has regularly skinned ex-wife Kim Kardashian’s new boyfriend, Pete Davidson.
West has also been in a verbal dispute with Grammy presenter Trevor Noah, who has defended Kardashian and Davidson. According to The Blast, fears of a clash between West and Noah have been another cause for concern and cancellation.
–Shortly before The Blast published their case, the rapper The Game went out on Instagram and yelled at the Grammys for notes for dropping a Kanye West performance “at the last minute”. The Game has over 12 million followers.
Earlier this week, West was banned from Instagram, after making racist statements against Trevor Noah.
In any case, West has been nominated for five Grammy Awards, including for this year’s best album.
