“Kanjirapalli Bishop Criticizes Government and Forest Department Over Wild Buffalo Attack in Kanamela”

Kottayam: Mar Jose Pulikal, Bishop of Kanjirapalli Diocese, criticized the government and the forest department on the issue of wildlife. Mar Jose Pulikal alleged that the forest department is trying to turn the wild buffalo attack in Kanamela into an isolated incident. When a wild buffalo came up and tragically killed two people on the same day, the forest guards were on the scene to protect it. If this wild buffalo had entered the assembly or the party office, there would have been a decision immediately?’ Mar Jose asked sourly.

The government, concerned and political parties should not forget that the bison does not have the right to vote. Many people are fighting hard to save these wild animals. No wild animal will get you anywhere by voting. He also reminded that no one should forget that human beings with marrow and flesh live here.

Jose Pulikal criticized that if a wild buffalo had entered the legislature or the party office, no one would have bothered to break the law and there would have been no time to shoot it. Jose Pulikal said that when the wild buffalo ran into the poor farmer’s chest, there were thousands of rules to be broken and this double standard was not worth it. Local residents raised a fierce protest after a wild buffalo attack in Kanamala in which two people died at the same time. It was then announced that the bison would be shot, but the protest is still going on.
