Jonathan Majors actor who plays Kang the Conqueror in the MCU has revealed what his main focus is when playing the Marvel villain
A new big bad is coming to the Marvel Cinematic Universe to fill the void left by Josh Brolin’s death of Thanos. Kang the Conqueror will be the main antagonist of the Multiverse Saga.
In an interview with nerdy bunkersthe actor of Loki and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, which Jonathan Majors covered What was your main goal when playing Kang the Conqueror?as well as with every role he plays:
“I think with Kang, my goal, as with any role I play, is to make him as universal and human as possible. I think we’d be lucky, you know, that these later stages have a big problem that also allows the audience to swing between applause and booing.”.
Majors also took the opportunity to congratulate Josh Brolin’s work with Thanos:
“What Josh Brolin did so well with Thanos was he tried to make him as three-dimensional as possible to make it very clear, you know, and he really believed that. That’s why I think he was so morally ambiguous about how bad it is. And I also think the word villain, and the more anti-hero you are, the deeper your constitution must go.
He also talked about how lucky he feels to be able to play different versions of his character in the Multiverse within the MCU.
“Acting-wise, it’s a lot of fun because I don’t just play Kang in the world, you know. I have other projects and other films on the go. Which is great because I can do the work in, you know, multiple different worlds. It’s super fun, you say, okay, I wonder how we can, because you know, in my world, between the two of us, where they’re different, where they’re the same, and that’s also very exciting. I feel like I could be the luckiest actor.”
