Harry Kane Desire to break goals Wayne Rooney in the England national team. However, he emphasized that he still puts the team first and does not want to be carried away by personal ambitions.
Harry Kane has become England’s goal machine in recent years. He was able to pack 49 goals from 69 appearances with Tiga Lion.
The Tottenham Hotspur forward becomes the second England international, along with Sir Bobby Charlton. Kane is only four goals adrift of Wayne Rooney, who is still listed as England’s all-time top scorer with 53 goals.
Kane’s opportunity to pass Rooney’s record is arguably wide open. The reason, he is still a mainstay of England coach, Gareth Southgateon the front lines.
Kane now has the opportunity to add to his goal coffers when England compete in the UEFA Nations League. Southgate troops will face Hungary (4/6), Germany (8/6), and England (12/6).
The 29-year-old striker admits that he wants to break Rooney’s record as soon as he is determined to score in the three games. However, Kane still tries not to get carried away by this personal ambition. He emphasized that the main goal of playing is for the team.
“I want to solve it as soon as possible, I want to score as many goals as possible in the next four games before the World Cup,” he said Harry Kane quoted from the Guardian.
“But I’m someone who doesn’t let that affect me when I’m on the pitch, I have work to do, it’s not about the scoring record… it’s about the team getting the three points and winning the game.”
