The Director General of REGIDESO, David Tshilumba announced, for next year, the start of construction work on a new drinking water treatment plant in Kananga.
He made this announcement on Monday, October 7, during his exchange with the governor of Kasai-Central.
David Tshilumba specified that this factory will extract water from the Lulua River.
“Our country has a lot of water but very little in the taps. And this city (Editor’s note: Kananga) also suffers from it. We have a new water treatment plant for the city whose work will begin next year, because we are finalizing the studies and the design as well as the selection of service providers,” underlined the CEO of REGIDESO.
He also recognized that his company faces energy difficulties and the obsolescence of equipment.
David Tshilumba added that this work will benefit from financial support from the World Bank.
