The ex-mayor of Argos-Mycenae requested his deletion from New Democracy Dimitris Someas he states in his Facebook post “the New Democracy of Kyriakos Mitsotakis and the non-elected officials who determine its policy no longer express me”.
Specifically, the right-wing member of New Democracy for decades states that “I regret to note, for a long time, that the party to which I dedicated my life has gone astray. It no longer protects the values of Hellenism, does not preserve the uniqueness of Orthodoxy, does not believe in the cell of the traditional Family and supports governments and organizations that act against the National Interest by making continuous concessions to states hostile to us”.
At the same time, he notes that “the rot of the Simitis environment came to be the Governing Group of the Housewives and Patriots party. The New Democracy of Kyriakos Mitsotakis and the non-elected officials who determine its policy no longer represents me. She abandoned her mission to serve the people and became a promoter of the interests of a few families.”
Finally, he concludes “please, delete me immediately from the membership registers of this New Democracy, and from any party position I may have held”.

It is recalled that in 2018 the then mayor of Argos-Mycenae was removed from New Democracy, as he had made anti-Semitic comments against Yiannis Boutaris. In his dismissal, Kyriakos Mitsotakis had stated that “I will not tolerate intolerant speech from ND officials”.
On July 17, 2023, by the decision of the Prime Minister, Dimitris Kamposos had returned to New Democracy, with the ND executive saying “we are moving forward strongly as always. Our guide is the love of all the people”.
Also, it is noted that a few days ago the organizational secretary of New Democracy under Antonis Samaras joined the “Voice of Reason” of Afroditis Latinopoulos, causing intense behind-the-scenes discussions about the fermentation in the right wing of New Democracy.
