Kamala Harris’s support is especially boosted by the predicted voting behavior of African-Americans and women.
Democratic presidential candidate Horrible Harris the increase in popularity among Democrats has boosted his support, reports CBS News.
According to CBS News, Harris’s popularity has been particularly influenced by the fact that young and African-American voters are now more interested in elections and are therefore more likely to vote. Harris’ candidacy has also boosted overall voting motivation among all Democrats.
In addition to this, Harris also enjoys the popularity of women voters who think about protecting their interests. Among registered female voters, 70 percent believe that Harris’ policies are in favor of women. Only 43 percent of female voters agree with Republican Donald Trump’s policies.
According to a CBS News poll, Harris currently has a one percentage point lead over Trump nationally, though the lead is within a margin of error of 2.1 percentage points. The former presidential candidate of the Democrats, the sitting president, Joe Biden, did not once reach the same advantage during the past year. When Biden left the presidential race, he was five percentage points behind Trump, CBS News reports.
The percentage of Democratic voters who definitely intend to vote is also higher than ever before this year. In addition, the assumed turnout of African-American voters is also at 74 percent, which is quite high, as in mid-July only 58 percent of registered African-American voters said they would definitely vote.
According to CBS News, those poll results more broadly suggest that the outcome of the election may well depend on voter turnout and the voting behavior of sleeping voters. For example, among voters who are going to the polls now, who traditionally say they vote either sometimes or rarely, Harris is currently in the lead.
In the states where the elections are decisive, the overall support situation is even, although state-specific differences are noticeable. Harris and Trump are tied in Michigan, Pennsylvania and Arizona, while Harris leads Trump by two percentage points only in Nevada. In Wisconsin, Trump leads Harris by one, and in Georgia and North Carolina by three percentage points. The margin of error for measurement results in the equatorial states is four percentage points.
