The Democratic Party officially confirmed that Kamala Harris is the party’s candidate for the presidency in the US elections to be held on November 5, which was considered a mere formality, at its convention in Chicago last Tuesday night (local time).
Delegates from all American states and territories once again voted in favor of Mrs. Harris, with a purely symbolic vote, and a background of music, photo-rhythms, short speeches and many celebrations at the United Center.
It was the night of the Obamas, with the former president and the former first lady of the USA stirring up the delegates with their positions.
It was a foregone conclusion that Ms Harris would be anointed the party, after votes were cast digitally earlier this month.
The vice president, campaigning in Milwaukee, took part in the proceedings digitally. She emphasized that she is honored by the nomination.
He is expected to deliver a major speech at the convention’s grand finale, which was meant to give the party a boost as the US election campaign now enters its final months.
