The Democratic candidate for the presidency of the United States, Kamala Harris, revealed this Tuesday, August 6, who will be her vice president if she wins the elections on November 5.
The vice presidential candidate for the Democratic Party is the current governor of Minnesota, Tim Walz. If he were to win, Walz would take Harris’s current position.
Kamala Harris became the candidate after President Joe Biden dropped his re-election bid, giving the Democratic Party new hope with a younger, more popular candidate.
Through his official X account, Harris introduced Walz as his “running mate,” highlighting his political career and presenting him as someone prepared and straightforward.
“I am proud to announce that I have asked Tim Walz to be my running mate. As a governor, coach, teacher and veteran, he has delivered for working families like his. “It’s great to be on the team,” said a statement in X.
Walz was a candidate that political analysts had put on the list of possible vice-presidents for Harris, and one of the most likely to create the two who will reach the White House.

For his part, Walz himself said in an X publication that being chosen as Harris’ running mate was “the honor of his life”.
“I’m going with everything. Vice President Harris shows us what is possible in politics. “It reminds me a bit of the first day of school,” he said.
While the appearance of the Democratic Party was strange because Joe Biden is still the presidential candidate in the next election, the move to Harris promises a fairer competition with the current Republican candidate, Donald Trump .
Harris is popular among the African-American and Latino community, especially among young people.
