Kamala Harris leads Donald Trump in key states, according to polls

Due to a special electoral system, the American presidential election is usually played out in a few key states, which may lean to the right or to the left, out of the 50 that are making up the country.

But the favorable momentum on the Democratic side since the withdrawal of Joe Biden for Kamala Harris does not prevent voters, according to polls, from liking Donald Trump on the main issues of the enterprise, namely the economy and immigration. According to the same opinion polls, however, those questioned believe that she is more intelligent and has a better image to rule the country.

Tuesday’s announcement of Minnesota Governor Tim Walz’s nomination as Kamala Harris’ running mate also appears to have energized Democrats.

Trump remains a favorite nationally

Before Joe Biden, 81, withdrew, Donald Trump, 78, was the favorite, especially after his assassination attempt and his victory at the Republican convention in July.

The entry into the running of Kamala Harris, 59, upended the Republican campaign, then focused heavily on Joe Biden’s age and shared widespread fear of his physical and mental capabilities.

Since then, the attacks made by Donald Trump on the origins of Kamala Harris or the controversies caused by comments made by his running mate JD Vance have not really made it possible to revive the Republican campaign.
