Kamala Harris officially received the necessary number of votes from the electors to become the candidate of the Democratic party for the presidency of the USA and the first black person to claim the office, announced the chairman of the Democratic National Committee.
Harris already has more than half of the delegates’ votes in online voting.
She immediately stated that she felt “honoured” to have crossed that threshold as of today, as voting is due to end on Monday. He added that he will formally accept the anointing at the party’s convention to be held in Chicago in mid-August.
