Kamala Harris Set for High-Profile Debate with Donald Trump
Kamala Harris ‘glad’ to debate Donald Trump in September
Donald Trump has proposed two additional debate dates, which Kamala Harris says she is happy to discuss further.
Former President Donald Trump, currently pursuing the Republican nomination for the presidency, will debate Democratic candidate and Vice President Kamala Harris on September 10 on ABC. This will mark the first direct confrontation between the two candidates amidst a competitive race, as recent polls indicate a tightly contested election.
ABC News has affirmed that both candidates have confirmed their participation in the upcoming debate. “ABC News will host qualifying presidential candidates to debate on September 10. Vice President Harris and former President Trump have both confirmed they will attend the ABC debate,” the network announced on Thursday.
ABC Moderators: David Muir and Linsey Davis
Moderating the debate will be David Muir and Linsey Davis from ABC. Muir, who has hosted “World News Tonight” since 2003, has extensive experience in interviewing political figures and conducting debates, having moderated presidential primary debates in 2016 and 2020.
Davis serves as the anchor on “ABC News Live Prime” and has been with the network since 2007. Her background includes moderating debates in previous election cycles and covering both the Democratic and Republican National Conventions.
Location and format details for the debate will be confirmed as the date approaches. This will be an essential event as the 2024 presidential election race continues to evolve.
