Kamala Harris and Tim Walz will give their first interview together this week on CNN

Washington, Aug 27 (EFE).- Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, will give their first interview together this week, which will be broadcast on CNN on Thursday.

The network announced this on Tuesday, stating that it will be hosted by CNN’s head of politics and presenter, Dana Bash, and will air on Thursday at 9:00 p.m. local time (01:00 GMT on Friday).

The interview will take place as the Democratic candidates are in the midst of a bus tour of Georgia, one of the key states for winning the presidency on November 5.

According to CNN, while Harris has previously given interviews to content creators and answered random questions from reporters at various events, this will be the first time she has sat down with a reporter “for an in-depth conversation” since President Joe Biden announced on July 21 that he was withdrawing from the race for the White House and named her as his successor.

This delay has been criticized by Republicans, both by former president and candidate Donald Trump and by his “number two,” Ohio Senator JD Vance, who have participated in several meetings with the media and interviews.

“It’s been 37 days since Joe Biden was removed and Kamala Harris was named the Democratic nominee. Kamala has yet to give a single interview. She is avoiding the press for a reason. She doesn’t want to talk about her radical agenda,” the Republican campaign said Tuesday before CNN announced its exclusive.
