Kamala Harris ad campaign attacks Trump for his stance on abortion

The campaign features two ads titled ‘Big Family’ and ‘Laurel’, which feature testimonies from women about how abortion restrictions in their respective states prevented them from accessing fertility treatment.

The campaign of the Democratic candidate for the US presidency, Vice President Kamala Harrislaunched a series of advertisements, before the presidential debate on Tuesday, in which he attacks the former president and Republican candidate, Donald Trumpfor his position on the abortion and the reproductive rights.

The three ads, which feature archival clips of Trump “proudly” touting his role in overturning the Roe v. Wade (federal abortion protection), are part of a $370 million television and digital advertising purchase between Labor Day and the Election Day.

“Donald Trump is a fundamental threat to reproductive freedom… In fact, he has repeatedly said he is ‘proud’ to have overturned Roe, a ruling that has harmed countless women,” Lauren Hitt, a spokeswoman for the Harris-Walz campaign, said in a statement.

According to the campaign, an advertisement titled ‘Told Us‘ will air on television during the autumn prime time programming.

While the ads ‘Big Family’ y ‘Laurel’which present testimonies from women about how the abortion restrictions In their respective states they were prevented from accessing the fertilization treatment in vitro or seeking abortion care, will be broadcast as digital ads.

Former President Trump (2017-2021) has recently moved away from the more conservative consensus of the Republican Party on abortion and reproductive rights, an issue that has punished the party at the polls since the Supreme Court It has left the interruption of pregnancy unprotected, and is generating controversy.

Trump now says he is against restricting abortion to six weeks into a pregnancy, a deadline that many Republican-run states are imposing.

One of those states is Florida, where Republicans passed this restriction in April.

“Vice President Harris and the Governor Walz “They are fighting to restore reproductive freedom in all 50 states because they trust women to make the right choices for their families,” Hitt added in the campaign announcement.

Harris’ team said this week that it has raised $615 million since the start of her candidacy last July, after the US president Joe Bidenwould decline re-election and the Democratic party and voters would respond enthusiastically to his successor.

This weekend’s action will focus on criticism of Trump’s alleged agenda drawn up by ultraconservative figures‘Project 2025’, which will be followed by an “aggressive” digital and television advertising campaign.
