The teacher-researcher and president of the Moroccan School of Engineering Sciences (EMSI), Kamal Daissaoui, was elected, Thursday in Casablanca, unanimously, at the head of the Federation of Private Education ( FEP) of the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM) for the 2020-2023 mandate, at the end of an elective Ordinary General Assembly (AGO).
During this assembly, which marks the reactivation of the FEP, Abdeslam Amor, Dina Hessissen, Moulay Ahmed Lamrani and Mohamed Melmous were elected general vice-presidents for the same term.
In a videoconference intervention, the Minister of National Education, Vocational Training, Higher Education and Scientific Research, Saaid Amzazi, welcomed the reactivation of VET, stressing the importance of the issue of private education sector.
This federation will make it possible to further position private education in a major axis that is Education and Training, noted the Minister. “We have started the reform of education and training which cannot succeed without a real contribution from private education”, he continued.
For his part, the president of the CGEM, Chakib Alj, welcomed the efforts of the various actors of private education in Morocco to revitalize the VET which was created in the 90s.
“By supporting Education, we are supporting the desired development model for our country,” said Mr. Alj, noting that “the implementation of framework law 51.17 inherent in education, the operational arm of this reflection, requires the association of all those involved in education ”.
The boss called for a strong involvement of players in this sector which today faces real challenges due to the pandemic, in particular the management of the start of the school year.
“We have deployed a very ambitious action plan to achieve the school of tomorrow through innovation and educational research”, for his part, declared the new president of the FEP.
He stressed that the federation aims in particular to contribute to the implementation of the 2015-2030 strategic vision, the objective of which is the establishment of a new school with its main foundations, namely equity, equality opportunities, quality for all and the promotion of the individual and of society and the operationalization of the global strategic contract within the framework of a public-private partnership and the implementation of articles 13 and 14 of the framework law 51.17.
It is also a question, added Mr. Daissaoui, of concluding a contract-program for the development of the sector and the implementation of the reforms programmed within the framework of the implementation of the framework law 51.17, of participating in lifting the constraints and obstacles inhibiting agility, responsiveness and innovation to form the new profiles demanded by the job market, in particular those suitable for digital transformation, teleworking and entrepreneurship, as well as unite and defend the interests of education and training professionals with public authorities, national and international organizations.
The Federation of Private Education currently has 333 members from general private education (basic, college and secondary), private vocational education, private higher education and scientific research.
