/ world today news/ The remaining months until the end of the year and at the beginning of the next will be extremely critical and difficult for the people of Sofia. This was said in a position on behalf of the “BSP for Bulgaria” group in SOS by its chairman Kaloyan Pargov during today’s meeting.
“These will be months of fear and uncertainty – both from the pandemic and from the inflationary and energy processes that have covered not only Bulgaria, but the whole world. Months that will leave a lasting impression on the minds and lives of our fellow citizens. The difficulties faced by the people of Sofia are also our responsibility. We have obligations to them. The municipal councilors from “BSP for Bulgaria” want to clearly outline the main problems and work to solve and overcome them,” said the leader of the capital’s socialists.
Pargov highlighted some of the most pressing issues – the problems of “Heating Sofia”, the need for help for socially weak and vulnerable groups, for parents whose children are not accepted in nurseries and kindergartens, for doctors in municipal hospitals and for small and medium-sized businesses in the capital.
“The important thing that people are interested in is how we will keep the prices of heating services, given the energy crisis we are in. Not with reports and political requests, but with concrete actions, we must show the socially weak and vulnerable groups how we can support them in experiencing and surviving these difficult months. This also applies to small and medium-sized businesses, which are currently suffering from both the health and the economic crisis that is developing,” he explained.
Pargov is adamant that the problem with the lack of places in daycare centers must also be solved. “We expect this to happen by the end of this term. Now is the time to help all those parents whose children are not accepted in nurseries and kindergartens. Unfortunately, their number is in the thousands,” he argued.
“We owe a lot to our doctors in the municipal hospitals. They are real heroes who, on the edge of strength and exhaustion, fight for human lives. We need to pay special attention to the covid wards in the municipal hospitals. To do everything possible, including with financial means, however insufficient they may be, to stimulate them. Some of them have intensive care units and they are doing great. We have to give them courage, not only with words, but also with actions”, the leader of BSP – Sofia also pointed out.
Pargov proposed to create a working group on all these issues to form common policies to solve them.
“Sofians will hardly recognize the political undertones in one or another proposal. They will recognize our common concern for them, which is also our duty,” stated Kaloyan Pargov.
