/View.info/ Local elections are the foundation of governance. In Sofia, we are already starting to think and work in this direction, announced the leader of the capital’s socialists
Participation in the quadruple coalition is a chance for the BSP, but we must be aware that the horror of politics is not being in opposition. The horror of politics is being in government – every day looking for a solution to problems, especially in a crisis situation like we are in right now. This was said by the leader of the BSP – Sofia Kaloyan Pargov on the air of Bulgaria ON AIR TV.
He expressed hope that the party’s representatives in the executive branch will cope and show what the BSP can do.
“However, I also have one big concern. And it has to do with how we get out of power. So far, BSP has lost every government, unfortunately. This has been happening for the last 30 years for one reason or another, regardless of who she was in government with and what the conditions were,” explained Pargov and gave an example of the triple coalition, where there was a very good economic environment, with high GDP growth , with a lot of investments – nearly 25 billion, but everyone knows what the result was in the end.
According to him, the upcoming Congress of the BSP is charged with great tension due to great expectations.
“At the moment, the BSP faces several questions, the answers to which are extremely important. In the first place is the one about the participation of the party in the government. The second is related to what policy the BSP pursues. The third is waiting for an answer on whether and how we respect the red lines we have set,” the chairman of the party’s Sofia organization pointed out.
He believes that the upcoming Congress should not be interested only in the characters.
“BSP’s policy is much more important. At the moment, it is key and people expect us to clarify exactly that,” Kaloyan Pargov said and added that there is an extremely important topic that no representative of the party has talked about so far – the question of the preparation of the upcoming local elections in less than two years and are extremely important.
“They are the foundation of management. In Sofia, we are already starting to think and work in this direction. I hope that the national leadership will emphasize this process and will set it as a task for the entire party right now,” said the leader of the capital’s socialists.
Kaloyan Pargov also commented on the state of the Metropolitan Municipality in the conditions of the health and energy crisis.
Regarding municipal health care, he explained that the hospitals are in good financial condition, but from the point of view of equipment, there is much to be desired.
“It shouldn’t get to the point where people are going to die on hospital stairs. In the upcoming budget of the municipality, the necessary financial resources must be allocated”, noted Pargov.
According to him, within the framework of the Recovery and Sustainability Plan, money should be provided for the construction of new cogeneration plants in “Toplofikatsia Sofia”.
“€400 million fully meets the need for highly efficient cogeneration, which is in line with the Green Pact. Every lev for “Toplofikatsia” is important, we must be responsible to this company”, said the chairman of the BSP group in SOS.
According to him, the financing of the capital’s urban transport is a huge problem, largely because of the inefficient management of this system.
“Reform is not done by reducing lines. The truth is that with the development of the subway, the efficiency and meaning of ground transportation has largely decreased,” he pointed out.
Kaloyan Pargov stated that the condition set by the BSP is to keep the price of public transport in Sofia socially acceptable.
