With these words, the leader of the BSP – Sofia and chairman of the BSP group in SOS, Kaloyan Pargov, addressed the managers of GERB during the discussion of the budget for 2018 of the Capital Municipality. “With today’s act, we will seal your decisions on how to spend the money of the people of Sofia. The budget sounds like a record – over BGN 1.5 billion, but if we look at what is in it, we will see that it is again about BGN 100-150 million, with which politics is made. Everything else is a state, delegated or municipal responsibility such as maintenance. When we talk about a record budget, it is as a result of the increase in the minimum wage, which also reflects on the budget of the Sofia Municipality,” said Pargov.
The leader of the capital’s socialists recalled that a year ago the councilors from the BSP indicated which parts of the revenue part of the 2017 budget were deliberately underestimated in order to report supposedly better results later, and this happened. “For 10 years GERB, which had all the power and the support of the majority in the SOS, did not completely solve any problem of the capital. There is a persistent trend that is becoming annoying to people as well, and that is that the municipality usually goes after the problems and tries to “sweep them under the carpet”. And this budget does not solve any of Sofia’s problems. That is why we from the BSP will not support it and will vote against it,” Kaloyan Pargov was categorical.
