It’s time for Sofia’s administration to come to class. I wish the metropolitan municipal administration and its head Mrs. Fandakova to really roll up their sleeves and start working smartly and efficiently in the conditions of a new political reality. This was said by the chairman of the “BSP for Bulgaria” group, Kaloyan Pargov, at the beginning of the first session of the SOS for 2022.
He wished his fellow municipal councilors health, immunity and a successful and fruitful year for the city.
In his words, 2022 will be a real test for everyone, regardless of which political group they belong to. “The year 2021 passed under the sign of two things – COVID-19, which, unfortunately, does not leave us even during the elections. All this faced us municipal councilors, but especially the capital administration, in front of crisis moments in a number of systems of the capital city – transport, heating, health care and others”, noted Pargov.
According to him, the year 2022 will be a real test, because there are new realities, not only social, but mostly political, as well as challenges inherited from the previous 2021.
“The most important thing before us is the adoption of the budget for 2022. For the first time, the state does not have a budget. For the first time, we as a municipality will have a budget much later than the normal one we are used to. All this should not make us wait, but rather be proactive. All the challenges and crises in a number of municipal systems that we are facing require bold steps, require solutions, require a lot of sense,” said Kaloyan Pargov.
“The priorities that have been set so far in the previous annual municipal budgets will probably be different. So that, in the remaining time of our mandate until 2023, the rulers can boast, and we from the BSP, as a constructive opposition, can help them completely solve at least one problem of the Metropolitan Municipality,” the leader of the Metropolitan Socialists pointed out.
Pargov stated that the Metropolitan Municipal Administration and the leadership of the Metropolitan Municipality must be aware that 2022 is the year of emancipation.
“A year in which the Metropolitan Municipality must emancipate itself from the stigma of GERB, when it was the ruling party, and Sofia and the mayor Fandakova were pampered by the state power,” he was categorical.
“In 2022, the normal functioning of key systems of the capital must be guaranteed – transport, preschool and school education, municipal health care and the main communal services – heating or as we know it as the problem of “Heating”, water supply and cleanliness, at the same time in the conditions of an energy, social and health crisis”, explained Kaloyan Pargov.
