Human dignity is at the forefront of the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union. According to her, the recognition of the dignity of people is the basis of freedom, justice and peace in the world. Today, the 1st of May, we from the Bulgarian Socialist Party declare that the dignified labor of workers must guarantee a dignified life. This is what BSP leader Sofia Kaloyan Pargov said in his speech during the May Day rally-concert in Borisov Garden, organized by BSP.

He pointed out that at the beginning of the third decade of the 21st century, it is necessary to say this again, because in today’s Bulgaria, the working people still do not receive a decent payment for it.

Pargov congratulated the people of labor, the left-wing press and the pillars of free speech.

Covid-19 has changed not only life in the country, but also in the whole world. In the last year, Bulgaria went through a state of emergency, and then and until now it is in an extraordinary epidemiological situation. Severe health, economic, and now political cataclysms have occurred in our country”, pointed out the chairman of the Sofia organization of the BSP and added that many people faced the infection and not all of them fought it, thousands lost their jobs and livelihoods, and entire sectors are faced with the danger of whether they will survive.

“Today is a sad holiday,” stated Kaloyan Pargov.

“But we, the socialists, do not lose courage. We will defend the dignity of the working people. We will also fight for the change in the state that would guarantee it,” said the leader of the capital’s socialists.

“Nothing is lost. Much can be gained. It is up to us to be strong, united and united. That’s what we, the socialists, should be,” he is convinced.

According to him, today we must not forget about the freedom of the media.

“Bulgaria is already in the unenviable 112th place in terms of freedom of speech in the world, having fallen another position back this year,” he recalled and said that any retreat from this freedom is a sentence for our country.

According to him, it is a fact that in recent years in our country the ratio “quality – circulation” has long been violated. Moreover, the yellow press is tolerated at the expense of quality and objective journalism.

“The newspaper “Duma” continues to hold the front. And here is a place to thank the team and, in absentia, the founder of the newspaper, Stefan Prodev,” concluded Kaloyan Pargov.
