“Kalna Mikas is one of those farms in Latvia, which we can consider as a model for the implementation of European Union projects and attracting the necessary funding, reminding of Latvia’s strong farms. We are pleased to support Z / S Kalna Mikas in their modernization process to help the farm purposefully adapt to the trends in the dairy industry. In addition, thanks to the cooperation with the European Investment Bank, we were able to offer the client favorable loan terms, ”says Ilze Zoltnere, Head of Luminor’s Corporate Department.

During the reconstruction of Z / S Kalna Mika farm, it is planned to replace the roof and doors, install a ventilation system and restore the facade of the building. With the allocated funding, the farm plans to purchase milk tanks and two feed storage towers, which will make it easier to store their own grain, as well as new feeders for farm cattle will be installed. In turn, in the transition to an automated milking process, two milking robots will be purchased, which will increase the amount of milk obtained from one cow by about 15%.
