The Allsvenskan’s best goalkeeper in 2022 is leaving Kalmar FF.
Ricardo Friedrich breaks his contract.
– I’m sure we’ll be back one day, says the brass in unison press release.
Ricardo Friedrich has been a key player for Kalmar FF since he joined the club in January last year.
The 30-year-old brass was named goalkeeper of the year in the Allsvenskan 2022 and excelled both with his 14 clean sheets and his footwork.
Paying tribute to the club
Now it is clear that Friedrich will leave KFF after the season.
– It makes me happy and proud that Kalmar FF helped me to love my profession again, to play with my heart again, and that my family could stand in the stands to cheer me on. What a fantastic feeling to have them at the Guldfågeln arena with all of you who supported me and our team, says Friedrich to the club’s website.
The goalkeeper is team captain in KFF and hopes to return to Kalmar.
– I am sure that we will return one day and I hope with all my heart that you will welcome us again to this fantastic football club and beautiful city that we have learned to love as if we were born here, as if we were true Calamites, says he.

Was offered a role in the club
KFF’s sporting director Jörgen Petersson reveals that there was a clause in Friedrich’s contract.
– In the agreement, there has been an opening for both parties to break the agreement after 2023, something Ricardo has now chosen to do. We have offered Ricardo and his advisers a new contract and also offered the possibility of post-career employment. Unfortunately, it was not enough to find a way forward for a continuation, he says.
KFF is in sixth place with four rounds left to play in the Allsvenskan. The team has defeated three gold candidates in their last four games.
