Kalindi, a player who represented Nacional, Penafiel and Académica, died this Sunday at the age of 28.
The news was released by the Madeiran emblem on its official website, without revealing the cause of the right-back’s death. Apparently, the reason for death was a cardiac arrest.
The Brazilian entered Portugal through Penafiel, an emblem where he played from 2015 to 2018 on loan from Grêmio Anápolis. In 2018/19, the player from Pará joined Nacional, having played a total of 71 games in three and a half years.
This year Kalindi was linked to Académica, but he did not play any game and ended up terminating his contract a few weeks ago. Moreover, Briosa issued a statement after Nacional, stating that it reached an agreement with the defender to end the relationship “due to physical problems detected later”.
National’s note:
Football is mourning the death of Kalindi, a player who represented CD Nacional for the last three and a half seasons.
Born on August 29, 1993, Kalindi arrived in Portugal in the 2015/2016 season to represent Penafiel.
Three seasons later, he signed a contract with Nacional, for whom he played 71 games, scoring one goal.
Right-back in the position, he was an explosive and irreverent player, filling the field with his dynamics, commitment and enthusiasm. An exemplary professional, a man of great character, an easy smile and always available to help his friend, he died at the age of 28, leaving a huge void in the hearts of all those who had the happiness of knowing and dealing with him.
Until forever Kalindão….
