The head of the Satirical Theater Kalin Sarmenov made fun of his young colleagues Filip Bukov and Stefani Ivaylo, who participate in the series “Fathers”. Sirmenov posted a status on Facebook, which was later deleted from his profile. His post read:
“Bulgarian cinema discovered the formula for talent and intelligence. Glasses! See the example below. So, remember, you put on the glasses and you are already talented and smart and not infantile. Nobel Prize. And the slightly open lips, eh?”, and he was posted a picture of the two actors.
The response of the young actor Filip Bukov was not long in coming, and he posted his reaction directly in a comment to the mocking publication.
“Hello! I am also glad to meet you on this wonderful occasion! Everything you say about me is true, so I can’t take offense. It is an honor for me to have a professional and actor like you comment on my lack of qualities! The few skills I have are taking pictures of myself topless and making sarcastic faces, but that’s all I can do and somehow I survive! The fact that you are commenting on a young lady who is trying to develop professionally and earn her money through honest work and not putting herself down, literally and figuratively, speaks volumes about you as a man and a person!
From the rostrum of your Facebook profile, I find that you are not an exception to the “dark Balkan subject” stereotype, namely, what separates us from the successful nations is that we are united by hatred and malice, not love and support. It is very unfortunate that we continue to have to read comments from the context of “Grigor has no psyche and is of no use”, “Maria Bakalova is a shame for our nation and this is no success” and more and more. Remember that we young people are the future of this country and it is we who will pay your pensions. If you don’t like us, don’t forget that you and the generation after you raised us.
Roosevelt said that small minds discuss people, average minds discuss events, and great minds discuss ideas!
I wish you good health and creative success!”
However, this comment was deleted by Kalin Sirmenov, with Bukov telling his followers on social media that his account was blocked shortly afterwards.
Kalin deleted his post, not long after he posted another one in his place:
“The non-professionals – Meaning of the word non-professional.
1. Without sufficient knowledge of a specialist.
They are also sensitive children, ready to blame everyone for their inability, but not themselves! They also shed tears and give examples. He can’t, he’s dumb, but he’s sensitive. And now how to destroy his fragile self-esteem. I’m sick of such fragile du…shee.”
Philip posted a screenshot of the Satire Chief’s post, only commenting on it “When you don’t know when to stop exposing yourself.”
Comments poured in by the second, with most of them disapproving of the theater director’s post and concluding that his behavior was ugly. This is most likely what caused the first post to be deleted as well. Many fully defended the young actors Philip Bukov and Stephanie Ivaylo, writing that no one was born a scientist.
The “Stolen Life” actor posted a long message on his Facebook page.
“Yesterday, I found out from my friend that Kalin Sarmenov commented on “Tatkovtsi” and in particular me and Stefani Ivaylo. I read what he wrote and his comments under the post and I published the following text under his speech. Shortly after that my comment was deleted , and my profile is blocked. I leave the conclusions to you,” wrote Bukov.
The actor continued by saying that everything his colleague wrote about him was true and that it was common for him to have a professional like Sirmenov comment on his lack of talent. Bukov also stood up for his colleague by writing:
“The fact that you are commenting on a young lady who is trying to grow professionally and earn her money through honest work and not getting laid, literally and figuratively, speaks volumes about you as a man and a person!”
Filip Bukov reminded us not to forget that Sirmenov’s generation and the one after him educated the youth and that it is the youth who are the future of Bulgaria, and “it is we who will pay your pensions”.
At the end of his post, the actor asked people to comment on what they think about it and send heartfelt greetings to Kalin Sirmenov, since he blocked him.
