Kalideres drug hoarders lie to BPOM about Azithromycin stock Stok

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

West Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Ady Wibowo said that drug hoarders covid-19 had lied to BPOM when asked about stock availability. To BPOM, the hoarder admitted that the drug stock was empty.

“A letter from BPOM on July 7 to hold a zoom meeting to ask if there is a stock of this type of drug Azithromycin 500 mg. But it was conveyed by the person concerned that the stock is not yet available,” said Ady in his statement, Tuesday (13/7).

In fact, said Ady, the drug arrived at the warehouse on July 5. With the current Covid-19 pandemic situation, he continued, this drug should be distributed immediately.

Ady said that the medicines stored in this warehouse were sent from Semarang to be distributed in the Greater Jakarta area.

“As I said at the beginning, there were indications that they were hampering its distribution, they were told there was none, even from BPOM inviting a zoom meeting, asking (the stock of drugs) the person concerned said there was none,” he said.

Currently, investigators have examined three witnesses, namely YP as Director, MA as pharmacist, and E, who is the head of the warehouse.

Ady said that his party had also escalated this case to the investigation stage and would soon identify a suspect.

“We are increasing it as an investigation and will determine several suspects,” he said.

In this case, the suspects may be subject to Article 107 in conjunction with Article 29 paragraph 1 of Law Number 7 of 2014 concerning Trade and or Article 62 paragraph 1 in conjunction with Article 10 of Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection and or Article 14 in conjunction with Article 5 paragraph 1 of Law No. 4 of 1984 concerning Outbreaks of Infectious Diseases.
