Kalfin buys luxury limousines – 2024-10-08 07:49:54

/ world today news/ Luxury cars for the social department of Ivaylo Kalfin. The Ministry of the Poor has allocated hundreds of thousands of BGN to buy ten luxury cars. The requirements are high, and only two car models of one manufacturer meet them, reports Nova TV.

The cars cost the ministry BGN 720,000 including VAT. The employees of the department will ride with them, but not the minister.

The new vehicles are to replace those the ministry purchased in 2009. Nova TV sent the details of the public order to the main car dealers in our country. Several brands fit the criteria, but only two models at the price.

“Suppliers, if they want to be our supplier, let them consider the price that we can pay from the budget”, commented Momchil Maslarov from the Ministry of Social Affairs.

It turns out that the suppliers are different, but the manufacturer of both models is the same. Until a few days ago, Rosen Popov worked for one of the companies, and the public procurement did not surprise him:

According to him, it is aimed exactly at two of the big German manufacturers. The reason is the extras that are described in the order.

“It is about a certain type of gearboxes, lights, windows, climate control,” he commented.

In addition to describing certain models, the specific parameters also speak of quite high requirements. The model must be a sedan, and the power must be at least 140 kilowatts or about 190 horsepower, whereas a normal city car is about 90 horsepower.

In addition to high power, the Ministry of Social Affairs also has high requirements for fuel consumption. And the two favorite companies are currently being investigated in the US and Europe for the harmful emissions emitted by their engines. But also – the ministry wants to buy an automatic car with a 6-speed gearbox. Trademark of both companies. And four by four.

And one more mandatory requirement – the color must be black metallic.

“Black metallic is the most expensive color. It costs about BGN 1,000 to pay extra,” said Rosen Popov.

And the official cars of the ministry are now a different color. Candidates will also receive additional points for a driver fatigue detection system, bi-xenon headlights and a start-stop system.

The deadline for submission of applications expires at the beginning of April.

We compared this order with a public order of the Health Fund – again for the purchase of cars. For almost the same amount, the Treasury wants to buy twice as many cars. However, there was also suspicion that the public procurement was made to benefit a certain car manufacturer.
