SHARJAH, 30th August / WAM / Abdul Rahman Ibrahim Al Darmaki, Secretary General of the Kalba Cultural and Sports Union Club, affirmed the club’s keenness to continue mobilizing efforts to enhance and sustain community, cultural and sports initiatives and services that serve the city of Kalba and the people of the Emirate of Sharjah, a translation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi Member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah.
Al Darmaki extended his sincere thanks and gratitude to His Highness, the Ruler of Sharjah, for his continuous support to the club, and his recent praise for the club’s programs and outputs, which had a great impact on the workers, stimulated work, and moved forward towards enhancing the achievements and developing more plans to serve all segments of society.
Al Darmaki explained that the club’s statements recorded the enrollment of 616 players in the club, of whom 90% are citizens, and they represent 11 team and individual games, embodying the strategy to attract citizens, pointing out that the club, since the formation of the new board of directors headed by His Excellency Rashid Al Kindi, raised the percentage of citizens within only three months to 90% in games. Individual sports, an increase of 15% over the previous year, and 91% in team games, an increase of 14%, according to the club’s plans to increase the percentage of citizens.
He pointed out that at a time when the percentage of citizens in chess and badminton games reached 100%, the club seeks to complete the percentage of citizens in all games. Citizens The club seeks to rehabilitate former players to be coaches or referees, each in his game.
The club’s general secretary said that work has been done to develop a plan that includes a number of initiatives that will see the light in the coming days to serve all groups, including the players’ parents, because they are partners in qualifying educational players and athletes.
The plan includes establishing partnerships with schools in the city of Kalba to spread the culture of club sports, discover talents in them, and organize cultural sports activities in cooperation with the authorities and institutions in the city of Kalba.
Al Darmaki added that the work team is working on launching the strategic plan, which is the first of its kind in the club’s history, with a vision and message derived from the directives of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah. Work is underway to launch the club’s website, which will include many services for the club’s fans.
One of the community initiatives adopted by the Kalba Cultural and Sports Union Club includes providing a service to the elderly category of citizens by developing their skills and maintaining their health by allocating three days a week for them who are not affiliated with the club, allowing them to practice sports activities and use the club’s facilities with the presence of a specialized trainer in this category. The initiatives also include activating cultural programs that care for young people in terms of behavior, instilling constructive concepts and positive values, and developing intellectual and physical skills.
Among the club’s initiatives is the organization of an educational and recreational summer program for the city’s children, in partnership with the Suhaila Suburb Council, in cooperation with the Department of Social Services and a number of institutions and departments in Kalba, with the participation of 130 affiliates, with a percentage of citizens of 97%.
The Kalba Cultural and Sports Association Club implemented more than 25 educational, recreational and cultural activities, and cooperated with the Social Services Department in the participation of people with disabilities and the elderly, and gave lectures by the department to players for the age groups from 10 to 18 years.
