With a concert – requiem for the train accident in Tempe, Kalamaria paid tribute to the 57 dead who lost their lives so unjustly.
A total of 40 musicians dressed in black presented at the Municipal Theater of Kalamaria “Admiral Votsis” on Sunday evening (31/3) a range of musical sounds, such as parts of the Requiem, Mozart, Verdi and Faure, compositions by Puccini and others, in the presence of a large crowd .
Also, the concert premiered the works of H. Ouzounis and I. Sioutis, the composers selected in the open call for new works conducted by the Orchestra, written especially for this event.
“Today’s concert for the tragedy of Tempe sends a message of justice”, the Mayor of Kalamaria Chrysa Arapoglou emphasized in her statements.
The aim of the event, as stated by the organizers, is to provide emotional support to the families and friends of the victims as music and culture have always been the most symbolic way, since it speaks directly to the heart.
It is also noted that the concert was organized by the Deputy Mayor of Education, Lifelong Learning and Culture of the Municipality of Kalamaria in collaboration with the Orchestra and the Youth Choir.
