PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) provides special rates for purchases ticket on certain routes. These special rates are usually given for short-distance routes served by long-distance trains.
Such tickets are often referred to as go show tickets, this mention occurs because special fares can only be purchased about 2 hours before the trip. Purchases can be made directly at the station or via the KAI Access application.

Meanwhile, PT KAI Daop 4 Semarang can use special rates, including the Semarang Tawang – Surabaya Pasarturi relation, Semarang Tawang – Tegal pp, Semarang Tawang – Madiun, Cepu – Surabaya Pasarturi, Tegal – Haurgeulis, Tegal – Jatibarang, Tegal – Cirebon, Tegal – Cirebon Prujakan, and Cepu – Surabaya Pasarturi.
Meanwhile, the list of trains that serve special fares includes Argo Bromo Anggrek Train, Argo Muria Train, Argo Sindoro Train, Brawijaya Train, Sembrani Train, Jayabaya Train, Brantas Train, Harina Train, Gumarang Train, Dharmawangsa Train, Ciremai Train, Kaligung Train , Kertajaya Train, Tawang Jaya Premium Train, Argo Cheribon Train, and Blambangan Express Train.

Purchasing special fares can also be made on several routes on KAI Daop 6 Yogyakarta. The cheapest rates start from IDR 30,000-150,000 for various classes.
Some routes that can get special rates in Daop 6 are Yogyakarta/Lempuyangan – Kutoarjo PP, Yogyakarta/Lempuyangan – Solo Balapan/Purwosari PP, Solo Balapan/Purwosari – Kutoarjo PP, Yogyakarta/Lempuyangan – Purwokerto PP, Yogyakarta/Lempuyangan – Kediri PP, Yogyakarta – Surabaya Gubeng PP, and Yogyakarta – Malang PP.
