PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) launched economic train (KA). Jayabaya with the New Generation concept. After the Jayabaya Train, KAI modified 12 economy class carriages, and is targeting around 100 economy class trains to be modified by 2026
This was conveyed by KAI Commercial Director Hadis Surya Palapa.
“12 trains have been completed. Hopefully by 2026 we will be able to change more than 100 units of economic trains that were still sitting upright. God willing, in stages,” said Hadis at the launch of the Jayabaya KA New Generation Economic Train at Pasar Station. Monday.
He also added that in the process he faced a series of obstacles. Starting from technological resources to human resources. Even so, he admitted that he could overcome it gradually.
Meanwhile, there has been an increase in fares for the latest version of the economy train. Hadis estimates that there will be a price increase of around IDR 30 thousand from before the new trains.
“So every time there is an increase in comfort facilities there will definitely be value but it will still be economical. The increase may be around IDR 30 thousand before modification,” explained Hadis.
For information, PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) launched the latest version of the economy train on the Jayabaya Pasar Senen-Malang train series. This new innovation comes as an effort to increase people’s comfort.
The launch of this latest version was marked by a ribbon cutting by Hadis Commercial Director Surya Palapa. On the same occasion, Hadis also delivered twelve carriages of the newest version of the Jayabaya train, which first departed from Pasar Senen Station at 17.25 WIB.
“Trains from time to time from year to year always show changes whose aim cannot be separated from improving public services. From the economy trains which have been operating since 2014, we have improved the facilities and renovated them so that there will be a better experience for passengers with a better journey,” said Commercial Director Hadis Surya Palapa at the Launching of the New Generation Economic Train KA Jayabaya at Pasar Senen Station, Tuesday (26/9/2023).
