In recent weeks, it has been reported frequently that Chelsea are leading the fight over the signature of Bayer Leverkusen’s offensive midfielder Kai Havertz (21).
But the German star has certain expectations for his next employer, and one of them should be that the club participates in Europe’s hottest club tournament.

According to SportBild’s transitional expert Christan Falk wants Havertz away from the owner’s club now this summer. This is because Leverkusen ended up in fifth place in the Bundesliga, and thus failed to secure Champions League games from next season.
Chelsea’s weak 0-3 defeat to Sheffield United on Saturday is bad news in many ways.
May end up outside
The result didn’t just give a golden chance for Leicester and Manchester United to send them out of the top four in the Premier League when the 35-player round is complete.
Unless the London team manages a table position that qualifies them for the season-ending championship games, Havertz is hardly interested in a move there.
If Leicester beat relegation-placed Bournemouth away on Sunday, and Manchester United follow up with a recipe-winning home triumph against Southampton, Chelsea’s Havertz hopes suddenly look considerably thinner.
The decision from Manchester City’s appeal in the Sports Arbitration Court (CAS), where the club’s two season-long exclusion from the Champions League is either suspended or upheld, could thus have even greater significance for Chelsea.
That court decision is expected Monday.
Billion-man
According to the website Transfermarkt Havertz is worth NOK 875 million at the time of writing. A buyer club, on the other hand, must consider paying a reported buyout clause in the German Leverkusen agreement.
It should amount to 1.08 billion kroner. The Bundesliga club’s Dutch coach, Peter Bosz, earlier this summer told Algemeen Dagblad that he expects a similar sum if Bayer Leverkusen is to agree to a sale.
According to reports, Chelsea should be willing to flip this amount, but Dean will have to divide this into several payouts.

But without Champions League status next season, it may look like Havertz will not choose Stamford Bridge as his next home game anyway.
Real Madrid is also said to have sensors looking for the offensive multi-talent. The Spanish league leader is guaranteed to see in the next edition of the Champions League, and thus has a huge advantage.
The Spanish top team, for their part, has a challenge of getting away from players if they are to have enough money to shell out for Havertz.

The defensive problems of Frank Lampard’s Chelsea crew were devoted a lot of attention in the Premier League studio to TV 2 after the poor performance at Sheffield.
